A popular fish in Malaysia and the Philippines, Milkfish is a tropical water fish that has a silver body. It is considered one of the safest fish you can eat, owing to the fact that it has relatively lower mercury content compared to other popular fish. The "Milk" in the name comes from the white meat colour that is similar to milk. Our milkfish is caught in Malaysia’s tropical waters. Malaysia is considered one of the major seafood exporters internationally, boasting over 300 species of freshwater fish.
Albeit bony, Milkfish is an excellent source of Omega 3 and fatty Acid. Usually marinated in vinegar and soy sauce, this fish is a Filipino favourite and is known for the buttery taste of their belly part when fried.
