Live Dog Cockles per kg

Beyond the low tide line and up to 100 metres below the surface of rocky and sandy seabeds, the dog cockle can be found. It has a thick, clam-like shell that is spherical and covered with pale-colored concentric brick-red patterns. They have astounding longevity, living to be 100 years old! We may determine this by counting the growth rings on a tree or the lines of growth in their shell!

Due to their sweet, almond-like flavour, dog cockles are a popular seafood dish in Europe. The French refer to them as "Amandes de mer," or "Sea Almonds." Yum!
