Scallop roe is sometimes rejected by the inexperienced, although it is regarded as a delicacy by those who know their shellfish. The soft, creamy, and savoury roe contrasts beautifully with the solid and sweet scallop adductor muscle - the circular white component. Furthermore, scallop roe is high in important vitamins and nutrients, which some regard to be superfoods. For example, roe contains a high concentration of omega-3 fatty acids, which are incredibly beneficial to overall health.
