The bar rockcod (also known as bar cod or grey-banded cod) is a common wild-caught saltwater fish, usually caught off the east coast of Australia. A lean mild-flavoured fish high in protein, vitamin D, and selenium.
Because of their low oiliness and juicy, thick flakes, bar rockcods are worth trying. The fish is a healthy lunch option because it contains very little fat. They're wonderful as fillets or steaks fried, grilled, or steamed. Pepperonata or tapenade complement grilled rockcod steaks.
